It’s no secret that I am not winter’s biggest fan. Give me a choice between a warm sunny day and a cold snowy day…and I’d choose the warm weather every time. I’d hibernate if that was socially acceptable but apparently it’s not. So instead, I’m choosing to focus on making our home as cozy as possible this winter. If I can’t live in Florida on a beach then I might as well make the best out of winter in Missouri, right? ;)
You may have seen my antique church pew + Christmas pillows post [here] a month ago. I shared the history behind the pew in our entry and explained how it came to be in our home. I love it so much, but it was looking a little sad today after all of the Christmas decorations came down. So I decided to give it a little winter refresh – not Christmas-y, but still cozy and winter-friendly.
The two pillows in the middle were sent to me by Porter Lane Home. I mentioned the Etsy shop in my Christmas church pew post , but seriously if you guys are looking for some really fun and pretty pillow covers – check Erin’s shop out! She also makes banners, cloth napkins, placemats, etc.
I said this before but I’ll say it again: how pretty is the detail on this pew?!? Also, don’t look too close or you’ll see that I still have a Christmas sign hanging above our china cabinet in the kitchen. I just need to flip it around (it says BAKERY on the reverse side) but haven’t gotten to it yet. Whoops. You can see my shiplap tutorial [here].
Don’t forget that you can sign up to receive my emails – I send one out every time I publish a new post, so you’ll never miss out on anything that’s happening on Shady Lane! There’s a sign up form at the very top of the page. Let me know if you need any help!
I’m all over the web – follow me! Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat (lifeonshadylane), Facebook, Pinterest, and Bloglovin’.
