I am not a big thrift store shopper. Sometimes I’ll get in the mood to go check one out to see if I can find any treasures…but typically I don’t find much at all. I don’t know if maybe I’m going to the wrong places or what, because I always hear about people finding such cool stuff!
I had a little extra time one day last week and decided to just swing by and take a look…and you guys, I FOUND SOMETHING! I was looking for things to style our bookshelves and found some older books that I turned backward (spines in) so that the shelves would look neutral, no matter the color of the spine.

But I also found something really cool and unique: a basket! As soon as I saw it and opened it up, I knew I wanted it. I asked on Instagram, but couldn’t figure out what kind of basket it is, so if anyone here can tell me – let me know! It’s round with handles and a little latch, almost like a purse of some kind.
I thought about cutting the baskets apart so I could hang them separately on the wall but then decided to keep them as-is. I also intended to hang them the other way around, but ended up liking them much better this way. Isn’t it funny how in the store you think one thing, and as soon as you get a piece home you change your mind about how it should be used? Or is that just me? ;) I do it all the time!
I’m loving the geometric pattern and the fact that there’s some black weaved into the brown color. A little touch of black makes a space feel instantly more modern. We have a geometric theme that has been starting to weave its way into our dining/hearth room so the basket fits right in.
