How Far Along: 28 weeks – officially third trimester!
Gender: It’s a BOY!
Total Weight Gain: about 17 lbs
Maternity Clothes: I’ve only purchased about three pieces – a shirt from Old Navy and a tank dress and t-shirt from Target. Other than that, I’ve just been wearing non-maternity stuff. However, when we moved to Reno about three weeks ago, I only brought the summer items that still fit me…and let’s just say that it all fit into ONE suitcase. I really need to go shopping, but I’m trying to make my non-maternity clothes last as long as humanly possible.
Sleep: During the first trimester, I was getting up about once a night to use the bathroom, but then during the second, I guess my body just got used to baby pushing on my bladder all night (or I just got good at ignoring it). Let’s hope the third trimester goes as well as the second!
Miss Anything: YES – wine, for sure! Also shopping (I just can’t seem to find many cute maternity clothes, and plus it’s hard to justify spending money on items I’ll only wear for a few months) and walking up a flight of stairs without getting winded. ;)
Cravings: Nothing right now. During the first trimester, it seemed like all I wanted to eat were egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches, and during the second, I ate an absurd amount of ice cream (which is something that I rarely ate before I got pregnant). I am drinking a LOT of water though – can that be considered a “craving” ?
Symptoms: None really, except for getting tired out pretty easily. Baby boy is kicking up a storm/doing cartwheels so that has been fun to experience! I’m a little nervous about what the third trimester will bring though (the second has been a breeze).
Belly Button/Body Changes: My belly button is popping out just a tiny bit, but it is definitely noticeable in tight shirts.
Mood: So far so good!
Best Moment This Week: Feeling baby get the hiccups and meeting our new doctor in Reno.
Looking Forward to: Appointments every two weeks (we are getting so close!), designing a nursery, and looking forward to drinking a pumpkin beer in the Fall after he gets here. :)
Exercise: Trying to get to the gym at least three days a week, plus walking the dog quite a bit. But my workouts have definitely changed since this belly tends to get in the way. I just make sure I listen to my body and slow down or stop if I’m feeling lightheaded or dizzy at all.
On My Mind: Excited (and nervous) to be entering the final phase of this pregnancy! :)
