Bike shorts are so trendy right now, and honestly I want to kiss the person who created the trend. Bike shorts are the summer version of leggings, and they are so, so comfortable (like wearing your jammies during the day!) and keep you cool when it’s 100 degrees out. Plus, they’re great for chasing little kids around, too, because they keep you all covered up! You can wear them for working out, lounging, with big comfy tee shirts, under a dress…they’re super versatile.
BUT – just about every retailer carries them, and it’s hard to know which brand will be the most comfortable and flattering. So, I did the leg work for you – I ordered 5 different pairs to try on, and I’m reviewing them here for you today!

These citron colored bike shorts were actually my favorite because of the color! So cheery and bright, perfect for summer. I also love that they don’t have a seam right down the middle so there’s no c-toe action (you know what I’m talking about LOL just keeping it real). Size up in these! I have a medium. This was my favorite bike shorts outfit for summer!

*I bought this super long tee specifically to wear with bike shorts – it’s actually called a tee shirt “dress”! Love, love, love it – I got it in two different styles! It’ll be cute to wear with leggings in the fall, too.
This is the same pair of bike shorts as the first, just in a different color! I wore these for our vacation last week (for several of the days lol). They’re super comfy and flattering, and I love the mesh detail. I sized up to a medium in these – definitely recommend sizing up.

*This is another oversized tee shirt that I bought specifically to wear with bike shorts! It’s SO comfortable – I need one in every color. I sized up to a medium so it would fit even more oversized (and cover my butt).
Love the length and rise of these shorts, and they feel like REALLY good quality. I wanted to try them because white bike shorts seemed a little fun and unique (not your typical run of the mill black)…but honestly I’d probably get them dirty chasing after kids all day. I’m thinking about trying these in another color because I really love the quality!

OK I’m going to be honest, my first reaction when I saw these shorts was that I didn’t like them. They look SO small when you take them out of their package, I was sure they wouldn’t fit. But I loooove how flattering they are on! They’re by Spanx, so they’re bound to kind of suck everything in and make you look fab, ya know? These also don’t have a seam right in the middle of your crotch. ;) Perfect! These are my favorite pick for a black pair!

I’ve never worn or owned any Lululemon, but I’ve heard all good things, so I had to try this pair of high rise bike shorts. They feel like freakin’ butter on – soo smooth. My only qualm was the seam down the crotch…but you’ll probably have a longer tee on when you wear them, so it’s probably not that big of a deal. They come in several colors and all of them are cute!
