Why I love the DockATot: an honest review of the baby lounger we’re using for our daughter!

HI! Remember a few weeks ago when I shared my tried and true baby gear must haves? I included a few items in the roundup that I was excited to try this second time around, and one of those was a DockATot! So today I’m sharing my review…plus a discount code if you want to purchase one for your baby. Scroll to the bottom for that discount!
Baby Ruby arrived on September 26, and I have been taking a little hiatus from the blog to spend time with her and Henry…and, let’s be real, to get my head around raising two babies under two. I still have no clue what I’m doing (other than winging it every day), but both babies are asleep now so I have a few minutes to blog. So let’s do this.
First things first…a picture of baby Ruby, because she needs an introduction! If you follow me over on Instagram, you’ve probably already seen a few pictures of little miss Ruby, but I haven’t shared any here yet! Baby girl was a complete surprise – we didn’t find out gender this second time around, and it was so fun!
I’m obsessed. All the heart eyes over here!
OK now, let’s talk about the DockATot. I kept hearing people talk about them, but didn’t quite understand what in the world the point was. I didn’t have one when Henry was a baby; he typically napped in his swing or on the couch (if I was watching TV or something) during the day. So I wondered why I would need one for Ruby. But I decided to try it, and you guys. I am SO GLAD I did!! See below for all of my reasons why.
It’s easily transportable
The DockATot is convenient because I can move it from room to room easily, and that’s really important with an on-the-go toddler. Henry has multiple places in our home that he plays, so whether we’re watching TV and playing in the living room, playing in the hearth room, or hanging out in his room, Ruby can come with us and continue napping.
I’m excited to try traveling with the DockATot, too. It will make the perfect place for Ruby to sleep in hotel rooms or at other people’s houses while we’re visiting for the holidays.
It’s cozy and makes baby feel secure
Ruby loves to nap in the DockATot! The surrounding padding makes her feel cozy and secure…so when I add a swaddle to that, I’m pretty sure she’s in heaven.
It’s a safe place for baby to rest while I’m getting stuff done
One of my favorite times to use the DockATot is when I’m cooking. Our home does not have an open floor plan, and while I actually like that most of the time, it makes keeping an eye on baby a little difficult. We keep the baby swing in the living room, and I can’t see that from the kitchen. So I like to set Ruby in the DockATot while I’m cooking or while we’re eating dinner. It makes keeping an eye on her MUCH easier!
It’s cute!
The DockATot is cute, and that’s important too! I ordered the pristine white version, but there are also several covers to choose from if that’s your thing.
This thing looks super comfy, doesn’t it? I had to get a picture of the side so you could see just how cozy and comfortable it is. My two year old, Henry, actually tries to lay in it as well. The DockATot comes in a bigger size for older kiddos too (the “Grand” size)…I may need to get one for him! ;) Thinking about trying one out for your own baby? Get $10 off your purchase right here.
Please let me know if you have any questions at all about the DockATot or that coupon code!
