I recently did a primary bedroom makeover and while it’s not quite finished, thought I’d share it here and also include links for all of the items I can!

As a reminder, here’s what our bedroom looked like before the refresh. We had the black four post bed in our last home, and I absolutely loved it, but it was just too large for this space. We don’t have a huge primary bedroom, and I wanted a bed that visually took up less space.
You can also sort of see that the black bed was in need of repainting. I purchased it off of Facebook Marketplace about 6 or 7 years ago and wiped it down but never repainted. It was really beautiful, just not quite right in this space!
You can find a very similar black four post bed here
Here’s how the bedroom looks today:
SO much fresher and brighter! I am absolutely in love with our new bed, the bedding, all of it.
Can you even believe the transformation with the new upholstered bed?! I’m actually obsessed. It’s so, so perfect.
I found black arched mirrors that are similar to the ones I have on either side of the bed, too!
I did keep the same area rug from before but am considering replacing that. It’s a big job, though, as the bed will need to be disassembled, moved out of the room completely, and then reassembled once the new rug is down. I’ll share when and if I do replace it, though!!
Honestly I do love this area rug, so if I take it out of this room, I may just move it to another room. We (I) love to swap rugs around. It’s a lot of work but it’s an inexpensive, simple way to refresh a room. Always recommend shopping your own home for a little free “makeover” once in a while! ;)
You can find our AREA RUG here
I also use this rug pad underneath almost all of my area rugs. The quality is excellent and it helps to provide cushion as well as keeps the rugs in place!
I knew as soon as I saw this duvet cover that I needed it. It’s just so fun and unique. I’d never seen anything like it!
I always have issues with duvet inserts not being large enough to actually fill up the entire duvet. You know how one side is always super full and pretty and cozy, and the other side of the duvet is just empty (because the duvet insert isn’t large enough)?! I finally found THE PERFECT solution!! I discovered this super king duvet insert on amazon and it’s the greatest thing ever. Makes my duvet so unbelievably fluffy and actually fills up the entire duvet cover. Perfection!
*If you have a queen size bed, I recommend going with a king size duvet insert. Always go up one size for the insert, trust me!
Also one more tip on duvet inserts: if you want it EXTRA fluffy, you can stack two inserts on top of each other and then tie into the duvet cover. I may try this out in the fall when we need a little more warmth!
I went with the all season-weight duvet insert.
You can find our nightstand lamps here.
At the head of the bed, I added a king size wedge pillow to stop pillows from falling into the gap between the mattress and headboard. It is genius and I can’t believe I haven’t had one until now!
When I decided to give our bedroom a makeover, I moved the dresser to another wall and it just opened up the room so much. I added custom art and it turned out so beautifully. You can order this same piece here.
I’m still working on dresser decor, but really like this cool tall organic modern vase!
The lamp on my dresser can be found here.
