Balance is key

A few days ago, I wrote about the blank walls in our apartment. Since then, I have been thinking about all of the possibilities for curtains in our living room, and how differently those different fabrics/designs would effect the look and feel of the room.

Before we even moved to Vegas, I started compiling a Pinterest board devoted to our apartment. I figured that would be a good place to start looking…and I noticed a common theme: a little rustic mixed with some girly elements. There are other places I like to turn to for interior design inspiration too. For instance, it can be fun to check out some of the gorgeous luxury apartments on real estate websites. A friend of mine recently showed me the website for Space station and they have a huge range of different properties for sale. Additionally, it can definitely be a challenge combining male/female design elements, and that’s exactly what we need to do. I’m sure Brandon wouldn’t appreciate all-pink-everything (neither would I, though) and I wouldn’t exactly be comfortable living in a home that was 100% geared toward guy. Balance is key.
